Events to mark the double jubilee of Saint John of the Cross — 300 years since his canonisation and 100 years as Doctor of the Church

The Centre for Applied Carmelite Spirituality, Oxford is hosting three events mark the double jubilee of Saint John of the Cross 

The three events are: 

Annual Spirituality Summit, 10-11 July 2026

  • Contemplative Creativity and Human Flourishing. 
  • Thirteen speakers including Cardinal Anders Arborelius OCD, Dr Susan Muto, and Fr Iain Matthew OCD. 
  • In person at the Carmelite Priory, Oxford, and online worldwide.

Within God Concert, Saturday 11 July, 7:30 pm BST

  • Five original pieces inspired by the mystical poetry of St John of the Cross.
  • Vocalist Angel Anyamele and pianist/cellist Simeon Elderfield.
